What happens if I do not issue the Bill of Lading Supplement (Complemento Carta Porte)?
Failure to generate the Bill of Lading Supplement (Complemento Carta Porte) could cause penalties from $38.30 USD to $741.33 USD. Failure to make the complete documentation available to customers could also result in penalties ranging from $857.75 USD to $4703.51 USD. Additionally, the SAT could close the carrier’s facility for a period of 3 to 15 days.
Avoid putting your merchandise at risk
Failure to generate the Bill of Lading Supplement (Complemento Carta Porte) would put the client at risk of being accused of tax evasion and their merchandise could be seized; in the worst-case scenario, it could be labeled as contraband and all the corresponding sanctions would be applied.
